Lantides winery


The family business started in the early 90's by Panikos Lantides. Returning from Montpellier and Bordeaux with the French diplomas of oenology and viticulture in his suitcase and after a few years of working experience in several vineyards of Greece, he decides to settle himself in his dream-wine-land of Nemea,Peloponnesos. Nowadays the Lantides-family business, run collectively by Panikos and his sons, Andrew and Simos is definitely a winery that stands out among hundreds.
 
With private vinyeards at several locations in the Nemea area, the winery delivers unique PDO and PGI wines according to the specific microclimate conditions as defined by the various altitudes, slopes and geographical orientations.

Next to the Nemean classic of
Agiorgitiko, Lantides family delivers superb creations by cultivating and vinifying other Greek varieties as well, such as the red Xinomauro and the white ones Malagousia and Asyrtiko.

Protected Designation of Origin "Nemea"

Agiorgitiko at its best by the Lantides family, from their mid-high-elevation-vineyard at 650m. The classic red vinification is followed by a 14 month maturation in French and Caucasus oak barrels. A rich and complex wine that preserves the fruity character of Agiorgitiko in perfect balance with the oak. Spices like cinnamon, clove, pepper and licorice prevail on the nose. Cherries and dried plums are sensed on the palate. The perfect wine to accompany grills, red meats and game as well as a plateau of mature cheese and charcuterie. Open it upon release or let it age for up to 6 years.

 

Little Ark (Agiorgitiko-Xinomavro)
Μικρή Κιβωτός (Αγιωργίτικο-Ξινόμαυρο)

 

This excellent dry red is a blend of Agiorgitiko from Peloponnesus (Nemea) and Xinomavro from Makedonia (Amynteo). The best grapes are collected carefully with the aim to take advantage of both strains best features. The vinification is followed by a 12 month ageing in new oak barrels. The end result is a full body wine of deep-purple colour with brick-coloured hues and a velvety texture. The aromas of smoky dark fruits, cherries, blackberries and strawberries are blending in harmony with the hints of herbs and sun dried tomatoes. Liquorice and typical oaky flavours make a discrete yet remarkable presence. The velvety tannins and the long aftertaste make this wine an incomparable companion of red grills and roasts, plateaus of cheese and charcutterie, nonetheless an excellent aperitif for brave wine lovers.

Protected Geographical Indication "Peloponnesos"

A classic blend by Lantides winery, combining the body of Asyrtiko with the fruity character of Malagousia. The result is an excellent white wine with intense aromas of ripe peach, gooseberries, pineapple and yet a touch of Mediterranean flair brought by notes of lemon zest. Rich and smooth on the palate. The long evolving aftertaste will definitely keep you on your toes!

Enjoy it as a summertime aperitif or anytime as a perfect match for all kinds of seafood, white sauces, crispy salads or a rich plateau of cheeses.
