Lacovino
The Lacovino winery is located in the province of Laconia, in the heart of the Eurotas valley.
The soulman of the winery, Diamantis Farantatos works relentlessly at Lacovino; his very own brainchild which was officially born a few years ago. With high quality and love for the local grapes as the major pillars of his mentality, Diamantis has built a boutique wine-making unit supported by state-of-the-art equipment and operating in full harmony with the environment.
The castles and towers of Laconia provide the inspiration for the design of Lacovino's bottles and labels while the primary resource for making the wines is mostly grape varieties indigenous of Laconia: Fileri, Kydonitsa, Monemvasia, Mauroudi. Next to these come grape varieties from other parts of Greece that have yet adjusted to give their own special flair: Agiorgitiko (Nemea, Peloponnesos) and Malagousia (Aitoloakarnania, Central-west Greece).
